June 3 Hanah Artemis Class

What better way to celebrate the approach of Summer than with a riot of colorful blossoms? If you would like to add some flare, a pop of extra dimension or learn a new way to bring some zing to your embroidery projects join Deborah Merrick-Wilson for a class in employing beautiful, hand dyed Hanah silk ribbons to add an exciting and unexpected element to your work.

Join your fellow Greater Cincinnati EGA chapter members on Saturday, June 3rd, from 10AM - 4PM at the Madeira Community Room for a fun day exploring a new technique. If you are not able to spend the entire day, feel free to come for as long as you can. Bring your own lunch or pop out to one of the local restaurants at your convenience

Attendees will learn how to make several types of flowers and leaves in differing sizes suitable for use with almost any form of embroidery or to embellish clothing or millinery items.

All materials necessary for the class will be provided, including a 10” square of muslin on which to mount the completed blossoms. Although not mandatory, either stretcher bars with tacks or an embroidery hoop to stabilize this ground fabric is highly recommended. Students will need to bring their own sharp embroidery scissors.

We hope to see you at this fun event compliments of your Greater Cincinnati EGA chapter. RSVP by May 27th (cincinnatiega@gmail.com) so we are sure to have enough materials for all.
